Brendoncare Alton

Brendoncare Alton has been specifically designed to enable older people to live independent; happy and fulfilling lives. Set in landscaped gardens; the care complex was opened in 1997 and is proud to offer the full spectrum of care on one site. This includes residential and nursing care for 75 people; including a specialist unit for the severely mentally frail; daycare facilities for the physically and mentally frail; and a sheltered housing complex of 46 close care flats.

The stylish and spacious nursing home is divided into self-contained wings to give the home-like atmosphere of small family units. Each consists of 15 bedrooms; a spacious and welcoming sitting and dining room and a small kitchen. The entrance hall and sitting rooms are attractively furnished and provide comfortable areas where people can spend time together.

The home enjoys close links with the local community of Alton and there is an enthusiastic friends group. Residents are encouraged to be as active as they wish. An Activities Co-ordinator helps residents with hobbies and interests; and volunteers visit regularly and help organise activities and social gatherings. Frequent outings are arranged using the home's own minibus.

Led by a highly qualified Head of Home; the staff at Alton make every effort to provide care which promotes privacy and dignity; and to understand each resident's needs and preferences. Registered Nurses are always on duty supported by trained Care Assistants; and all the staff receive continuous education and development.
